Fashion Law a Match Made in Givenchy Heaven.

In an age where the internet is filled with so much blogger noise,  I question the need for another fashion/personal style blog.

 But hear me out!

I am a self-confessed fashion addict though I knew I didn't want a career in fashion. This stemmed from an early realisation that I lacked talent and creativity. Instead I preferred to appreciate the fashion world from a far.

So I carried on with my life of becoming a lawyer because English and arguing are one of the few things I am good at. Like many of the others before me, it was only towards the end of my law degree that I sensed the impending doom. Of course I didn't manage to secure a clerkship! I didn't want one anyway or so I consoled myself. I don't want to work somewhere boring with old people.

"But will I ever get a job? Am I doomed to read contracts forever? Maybe I should have been more involved in the Law Society and partied less. Is it too late to do more extra-curricular acitivities- oh wait I hate sport. What about volunteering maybe I can do that. What about my personality maybe that will sell?"

Then a thought hit me. Maybe I'm not suited to be a lawyer.

Is fashion and the law contradictory?

My knowledge of fashion and the law being mentioned in the same context goes as deep as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. And Margaret Zhang of Shine by Three. That didn't deter me from wanting to combine my love of fashion and the law. Upon further research I discovered that Fashion and the Law are not like oil and water but more like a good denim jacket and a pair of converse shoes- necessary elements of every fashionistas' wardrobe.

You see, in order to protect brands and ideas (intellectual property) fashion houses need lawyers to navigate the difficult commercial world as well as protect their property from copyright or trademark infringement. Hence the Vogue Defender is born. This blog will be a reflection of my two great loves. Fashion and the Law a match made in Givenchy heaven.
